Question:
On the airqscore.com website, I noticed that there is a “Follow-up AIRQ” screener for use for patients 12 and older. Do you know if MNCM is going to require this use and if so, what the guidelines are around this follow-up screener?
Answer:
Only the 12-month version of the AIRQ tool will be included in the Optimal Asthma Control measure for MY2026 and forward. The workgroup did consider including the 3-month follow-up version in their initial discussion, but ultimately, decided against it since the timeframe isn't consistent with the 12-month measure period. The workgroup also felt that the 3-month follow-up version did not provide much clinical benefit over the 12-month version.
