Dates of service for the colorectal, asthma, diabetes and vascular measures are Jan 1, 2023 through Dec 31, 2023.
Patients included in the depression measure denominator reflect index contacts from Nov 1, 2021 through Oct 31, 2022, with accompanying six- and 12-month follow-up assessments through Dec 31, 2023.
Risk adjustment is the process of adjusting measures to account for the barriers that are outside the control or influence of health care providers. Appropriate risk adjustment creates a more normal distribution of results.
The risk adjustment calculation uses an Actual to Expected methodology. This does not alter the result of a clinic/medical group; instead, that rate is compared to a unique expected rate based on the proportion of each risk category for that clinic/medical group rather than being compared to the raw market average.
