MN Community Measurement (MNCM) has made the operational decision to suspend measure result validation and public reporting for the orthopedic and oncology specialty measures.
This decision follows a review of MNCM and medical group resources required to support the reporting of these measures, which revealed limitations in MNCM staff capacity and provider readiness to produce validated, comprehensive statewide measure results. We will continue to monitor community interest and available resources and will reassess the feasibility of moving forward with measure result validation and public reporting in the future when conditions better support meaningful participation and data quality.
Although these measures will not be included in public reporting at this time, these are valuable patient-reported outcome measures. We encourage medical groups and clinics to continue assessing patient outcomes using these measures as part of internal quality improvement efforts. Groups that have already completed applicable data extraction queries and wish to submit data into PIPE for internal purposes are welcome to do so.
Medical groups with physicians and clinics in Minnesota must continue to register annually in PIPE, even if they have no applicable measures to report.
