Ortho Measures Audit worksheet PROMIS Scores flipped
Questions 8 and 10 from the Promis 10 tool are scored a little differently than the other questions in the tool. For these questions, a lower score indicates a better outcome and a higher score indicates that the patient is doing worse. However, for all of the other questions, a lower score indicates that the patient is doing better and a higher indicates that the patient is doing worse.
To account for this, the portal automatically flips the scores for questions 8 & 10. This allows us to properly calculate a summary score where a higher score will indicate that the patient is doing better.
Since the scores are flipped in the portal and we pull audit worksheets directly from the portal, the scores will also be flipped in the audit worksheets. The only scores that should match are scores of 3.
There is * on the audit worksheets for these questions to remind the auditors that the scores on the audit worksheet will be flipped in your patient record for these questions. The Raw Physical and Mental scores will also not match the file that was submitted. The raw scores are a portal calculated sum of the individual scores and will use the converted scores. Auditors will not verify the raw scores for the Promis tool. Instead, they will only look at the individual scores that were submitted in your data file.
